Learning Space Design

Creating an effective learning space is a complex task that requires an understanding of many different disciplines and a strong vision for what learning can be like. Whether it is a physical space, such as a new classroom (or whole new school) or a virtual space, such as a new learning platform, the issues are complex and the solutions no less so.
We work with organisations to research, develop and design learning environments of the future that maximise learning potential. It is clear that there is no single formula for building an effective and engaging learning space and yet there are many people who would have you think that one size does fit all. Spaces need to be individually tailored to meet the needs of the learners, their aspirations and practices, but also help move the school or organisation towards its vision for what learning should be like.
When working with you we will put the learners at the heart of the process, involving them in the design requirements. We will research with you the best solution for your needs and ensure that it is able to meet your requirements for the future without being obtrusive or unnecessarily complex. We will ensure your vision can bcome reality and that your system can be adaptable and dependable.
We can work with you to:
- Demonstrate pioneering learning spaces from around the world
- Identify unique space needs for the various types of learner
- Propose technology which is fit for purpose
- Work with staff and stakeholders to deliver learning in new spaces
We’ve worked on some really great projects in this field.
RUG room with Norwich City College
Visioning the potential and developing the technology and infastructure for a new space in the college specifically for young people on the Autistic Spectrum (AS). The ‘Really Useful Group’ space is developed for students to socialise and learn together, it is flooded with learning technology. Work continues.
MLab with London Business School
Establishing the technology which would suit an exciting new space for managers to come together and collaborate on a new course at the school. MLab is the first of its kind in the world and is leading the way in innovative approaches within the sector.
Futures College
Building a new education institution from scratch is no easy task and Cleveratom have been delighted to work very closely with the evolving ‘Futures College’ project in Southend. Our team worked with the college to design and specify how technology would be central to learning opportunities.
