We understand how they work together. We know that with the right opportunity and enough enabling technology, learning and creativity can thrive.

We would love to show you how it works…

Digital Creativity

On November 27, 2007 by admin

Members of our team have been involved with worldwide research into Digital Creativity since the year 2000 looking at the ways in which digital technologies can be used to encourage creativity in learners.

During the years since then we have worked with Governments, Broadcasters, Museums, Companies, Charities and Education Institutions from around the globe, advising, supporting, planning and delivering ground breaking projects. A record of this work can be found at the Digital Creativity website where research output, examples and findings are all documented, and ongoing projects can be found.

We will work with organisations to help embed a creative approach to learning at any level, from the youngest (six year old children) to those in positions of senior management in institutions around the world. The emphasis is on learning through doing, understanding the process and applying that learning to other areas. We work with digital video, animations, digital art, and online technologies, and the outputs are often films, podcasts, websites and recordings of all sorts. The challenges are real and purposeful, the activities designed to extend learning and promote collaboration and teamwork. As such they are suited to just about any organisation needing to bring a creative edge to what they do.

We also present at conferences to a wide range of audiences, often running practical, hands-on sessions to demonstrate the power of these activities and to illustrate how they can be effectively used for learning.

BBC Blast

We’ve been working with Blast on their National Creativity Tour around the UK, in a lead facilitation role. In 2006 (before Cleveratom started) we helped shape the truck design and recommend the technology which would support learning on board. We’ve also been running creativity workshops in film, animation, and music at various locations around the UK on board the vehicle.

University of East Anglia

Running workshops in clay animation technique for undergraduates on Multimedia Design courses within the University.

Anglia Ruskin University

We work with Anglia to encourage young people who come from families whose parents did not attend University in face to face digital creativity events which explore University life in an interesting and engaging way.

Saffron Walden County High School

Every year our team works with the school and its primary partner schools to challenge a group of gifted and talented students with a tough digital creativity project. Each young person celebrates their achievements with an audience and receives their work on a DVD disc.
